new adventure in the kitchen.

well, about to be a new adventure in the kitchen.....correction- a new TAKE on the USUAL morning adventure in the kitchen. most mornings {even the mornings that i train super early}, i hurry out of bed and get my breakfast started. seriously, after popping an arginine supplement {promotes your body's building up of LEAN muscle-mass and HIGHly recommended for those looking to lose weight, build lean muscle tissue or help out your wee-immune system...a part of your body that weakens with lots of exercise} and head straight to the kitch to get a little yummy in my tummy. although it may sound time consuming, protein pancakes {lately} seem to be my favorite option. the 'tone it up' variety is my usual standby {as if you didn't know this!} since they're simple and i usually have all the ingredients on hand. but after my little mishap last friday morning, i think i'm going to try my hand at this recipe by david kirsch:

ingredients
½ cup cooked steel-cut oatmeal
2 egg whites
½ cup water
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
1 scoop whey protein powder
nonfat cooking spray
1 tablespoon nonfat plain yogurt
¼ cup sliced fresh strawberries
directions

  1. in a large bowl, combine the oatmeal, egg whites, water, cinnamon, and protein powder.
  2. heat a medium, nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, and coat with cooking spray.
  3. place two heaping tablespoons of batter on the skillet. cook 3 minutes, or until puffy and dry around the edges. flip and cook on the other side, until golden brown.
  4. serve with yogurt or strawberries.
makes 1 serving.

stayyyyyyyy TUNED!
